Symptoms
Check the filter under the lower rack first; it clears up more problems than people expect. If the fault is still there, it's probably one of these.
A few centimetres of cloudy water after the cycle, often with a drain code like E24 on Bosch.
Often points to
clogged filter, drain pump, kinked hose, disposal knockout plug
Water appears at the front edge or under the toe-kick, sometimes only during the wash.
Often points to
door gasket, spray arm seal, inlet fitting
Food still baked on, or sandy grit inside cups on the top rack.
Often points to
blocked filter, worn wash pump, clogged spray arms
Buttons light up and nothing runs, or it halts with water inside and the door latched.
Often points to
door latch, control board, float switch
Plastic and glass alike are dripping, and the tub feels lukewarm at the end.
Often points to
heating element, thermistor, empty rinse aid
A chalky haze builds on glassware and on the tub walls.
Often points to
hard-water scale, rinse aid dispenser, softener setting
Typical causes
Water goes in, gets heated, sprays and drains. Each step depends on one part that can quit, and their symptoms overlap more than you'd think.
A cylindrical filter sits under the lower rack, and below it a pump pushes dirty water out through the hose. Broken glass, cherry pits and jar labels stall it.
What you notice
Standing water, a hum at the end of the cycle, drain codes.
What gets checked
The sump is cleared and the pump tested before deciding whether it needs replacing.
The gasket keeps water in the tub, and the inlet valve at the bottom front lets water in. A split gasket leaks during the wash; a stuck valve can keep filling.
What you notice
Water at the door edge, wet flooring, a tub that overfills.
What gets checked
Leak codes like Bosch E15 mean water already reached the base pan, so we trace the source and dry the pan before running it again.
The element warms the wash water and helps with drying, while the thermistor tells the board how hot that water is. If either fails, cycles can run for hours or finish cold.
What you notice
Wet dishes, very long cycles, a heating error on the display.
What gets checked
Both are tested with a meter, since a failed sensor can look exactly like a dead element.

FAQ
Still unsure what's wrong with the dishwasher? Talk it through with us at (289) 670-3413.
E24 is a drain fault: water isn't leaving fast enough. Look at the filter under the lower rack and for a kink in the drain hose under the sink. If the code comes back, give us a call.
Hidden water usually comes from the inlet connection, the pump seal or a cracked tub. It can soak the subfloor without anyone noticing, so shut the supply valve under the sink and call.
A white film that wipes off with vinegar is mineral scale, common in homes that were on well water. If the film stays, or the dishes come out gritty, there's likely a wash or filter problem worth a diagnosis.
Yes. Panel-ready models take longer to slide out of the cabinet, so let us know about the panel when you book.
New disposals come with a plastic knockout plug in the dishwasher inlet. If nobody punched it out during installation, the water has nowhere to go.
